Currently in the top 100 (#67) in the world! Many people race slot cars but only a select few are in Jay's class. That's why if you're into slot car racing you want to come to SpeedZone Raceway & Hobbies. Meet one of the best professional slot car racers in the world. Jay's love of racing stretches back over forty years. He won his first race at age 8, and he never looked back.

Winning over 600 slot car races  in his professional racing career Jay knows slot car racing inside and out. He has been around the world racing slot cars and brings that experience to SpeedZone Raceway & Hobbies in NJ. Jay is the manager of the raceway and can be found at the track almost every day dolling out words of wisdom and providing expert advice to those who need it.

Jay's a fan of all types of slot car racing but really loves the "retro" style. He's a major force at all Retro Races in the East. Next time you're in the store ask Jay about his latest victory and where he'll be racing next.
Did you know that we also have a fully stocked hobby counter? We have paints, model building supplies as well as large stock of model cars and rockets.

SpeedZone NJ Owner - Mike Iles

Mike loves racing. Doesn't matter if it's real cars like Midget racers or 124 scale slot cars, Mike will be there. In March of 2009 Mike pulled off a huge upset at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI. by claiming the 20-lap TQ Midget feature race. Mike was the defending Modified champion at the dirt 5/8th-mile at the Bridgeport Speedway. Mike made history with the win at the Dunkin Donuts Center as it was the first race of its type held in Rhode Island in 50 years. “It is very cool to win in Rhode Island since the state hasn’t had a race in so long,” Iles said. “It is a real honor.”

Mike is also the Owner of Active Environmental Technologies Inc. Helping keep the world clean and free of pollutants.
